When is the last time you have allowed your mind to drift away thinking about the positive possibilities life has in store for you? So much information comes our way each day that it is difficult to go deep into our own thoughts. This is why it is important that we make time to step away from the external communications and commune with our own thoughts each day. Take control of your mental path by thoughtfully focusing on the things you want to occur in your life and the world. Imagining the life you want is the first step to bringing that awesome reality into existence. You owe it to yourself to think deep thoughts if you want to live the life of your dreams.
I find that the morning is the best time for me to go deep into my thoughts. Sometimes I use meditation and yoga to plug in, but other times I just lay in bed with my eyes closed daydreaming. I have found that the shower is another place where I can freely let my mind meander. If I notice that I am having trouble controlling my thoughts or focussing on positive things, I will ask myself a prompting question such as "What is the most awesome thing I can do this year" or "How can I spread more happiness in the world?" The point is not how you delve into a deep mental state, but that you get there.
