My life took a dramatic turn for the better when I embraced the understanding that happiness is a choice. My decision to embrace unconditional happiness has opened me up to a new way of thinking and being where I can find joy in each moment no matter the circumstances I face. I didn't truly realize how striking this change was until I began to discuss it with others who invariably note that I seem to be radiating positivity and full of hopeful expectation. The positive feedback I have received from others encouraged me to take a new leap in sharing my perspective on living your best life, one that enables me to reach people who I might never meet or need a more dynamic platform than this blog. The Ashley Way is to always evolve and thoughtfully create new opportunities for personal development and enhancing the world. The result is a new endeavor I am happy to announce: the Good Vibes Only Podcast.
The Good Vibes Only Podcast uses frank and penetrating conversations about sex, love, and relationships to ultimately inspire listeners to live their best life. I host the show along with my friend and co-host Ayanna who is an East Lansing, Michigan native, Howard University graduate, and all around cool and smart chic. Each week, we invite a special male guest to join us in the recording studio to discuss topics which will range from first impressions to makeups-to-breakups and everything in between. The show is free flowing and there are only two rules: tell the truth and no negativity. It is our hope that these discussions on topics we all face will engage everyday people to tune in to hear practical advice, cheeky insights, and new ways of thinking. We recorded our first episode on "The Guy Code and Girl Code," and though we are still working out some kinks, the discussion was pretty LIT!
An ancillary benefit of launching this podcast has been the team building process. Originally I considered launching a solo podcast, but I am grateful that I made this a group effort. Ayanna and I have great chemistry which highlights our unique perspectives on the world (both awesome and reflective of our distinct life experiences). We are working with a great crew too. My friend, super producer Black Metaphor (his credits include The Game, Meek Mill, Rich Ross, Jeezy, Isaiah Rashad and more) is providing us an amazing musical backdrop that really distinguishes the podcast's sound. We are recording the podcast at Salem Psalms Studio which is operated by another friend, Amond Jackson. The studio space and awesome mixing AJ provides give our podcast a beautiful aural quality. Lastly, we have a third friend, Roderic Wright of Modest Media providing eye-catching graphics and uber-flattering photography. I love my squad, and the experience of building this team, and tapping my network to identify male guests has been enriching, challenging, and fun at the same time. I am in a FLOW.
I hope that you will check out the podcast and subscribe so that you can be notified of new episodes which will drop each Tuesday. Feedback and sharing is deeply appreciated. We are also looking for forward-thinking sponsors for the podcast. If you'd like to contact me about the podcast, feel free to holla!
